Saskatoon RCMP – Sudden Death Investigation & Request for Public Assistance

Saskatoon RCMP received a complaint on February 25, 2018 at approximately 5:15 p.m. of a deceased individual on the ice in the South Saskatchewan River approximately 15 kms southwest of Saskatoon. Members attended and began a sudden death investigation.

The deceased has been removed from the river ice with assistance from the RCMP Underwater Recovery Unit. Investigators have determined the deceased is an adult male; however, they are not able to determine his identity and are asking the public for their assistance.

The deceased is described as an adult male with short sandy blond/brown hair and goatee.

The deceased was wearing:

– blue jeans,
– black bunny hug with a white design,
– black medium-length coat (not a winter jacket)
– black high-top runners with bright/light blue laces

Saskatoon RCMP, along with RCMP Major Crimes Unit North and the Provincial Coroner’s Office, are working to determine the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding his death.
