Centennial Drive North in Martensville officially reopened to traffic on Friday, August 28th, restoring regular access to the area following nearly three months of construction.
The reopening marks the completion of the major construction work included in the Centennial Drive North Upgrade Project, which brought improvements to the roadway, pedestrian connections and drainage infrastructure.
According to the City of Martensville, the upgrades are intended to provide long-term benefits for residents and businesses while improving infrastructure throughout the surrounding area.
Although the roadway has reopened, motorists may still notice crews completing minor finishing work over the coming days. This includes final cleanup, seeding within the road right-of-way and removal of the temporary access road that was used during construction.
The contractor was expected to begin removing the temporary access road on Saturday, August 29th. No additional road closures are anticipated as the remaining work is completed, although temporary lane restrictions may be required for short periods.
Drivers will also notice temporary jersey barriers with reflectors positioned along the new medians. The barriers are intended to help motorists adjust to the new roadway configuration and will remain in place until permanent reflective signage is installed.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution while travelling through the area as crews and equipment may still be present.
The City thanked residents, businesses and motorists for their patience, cooperation and flexibility throughout the construction process.
