Country Night at Cairns Field became even more memorable for one young Martensville resident on Friday, June 19th, when Lincoln was selected from the crowd to deliver the ceremonial “Play Ball!” announcement before the Saskatoon Berries took on the Regina Red Sox.
Dressed for the occasion in a cowboy hat, bandana and western-inspired outfit, Lincoln took centre stage as part of the evening’s festivities. His announcement was featured on the stadium’s video board, earning cheers from the crowd and creating a special memory for the young baseball fan and his family.
The Country Night event featured plenty of entertainment beyond the action on the diamond, including a petting zoo, a mullet contest, country-themed activities, and a special promotion that saw the first 500 fans receive passes to the Outskirts Music Festival.
The excitement continued on the field as the Saskatoon Berries put together an impressive performance, defeating the Regina Red Sox by a commanding 12-1 score. With a big crowd, plenty of country fun, and a decisive Berries victory, it was a night to remember, especially for Lincoln who had an exciting story to share with his friends and family.
