Twenty specialized sport wheelchairs stolen in July have been recovered following an investigation into a stolen auto by members of Stolen Auto and Patrol.
On November 24, 2017, with the assistance of the RCMP, Saskatoon Police Stolen Auto Investigators executed a search warrant at a rural property near Dalmeny, SK, in regards to a stolen auto investigation. During the search warrant, twenty wheelchairs were located, along with wheelchair tires, basketballs, jerseys and nets.
Thirty-four sport-specific wheelchairs and other equipment had been reported stolen in July after the trailer they had been stored in was taken from a compound on Cynthia Street. The 20 recovered chairs are valued at $80,000.
Three stolen vehicles were also recovered during the search.
A 37-year-old man is charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000 (x2). (Court Info # 991032548).
A second male, also 37-years-old, is also facing a charge of Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000. (Court Info # 991032550).
The investigation is continuing.
