On February 14, 2021, Warman RCMP received a request to investigate injuries sustained by a one-year-old child in Martensville. The request was made by one of the child’s parents.

The RCMP’s Saskatoon General Investigation Section investigated, with assistance from Warman RCMP and medical personnel. It was determined the child was seriously injured at a Martensville residence on February 12, 2021. The child was taken to hospital for treatment.

As a result of this investigation, officers arrested a 24-year-old male on May 27, 2021 in relation to this incident. The male is known to the victim. His name will not be released publicly by the RCMP as it could identify the injured toddler.

The accused is charged with aggravated assault and has since been released from custody, scheduled to appear in court on July 12, 2021.
