The Martensville-Warman Early Years Family Resource Centre (MWEYFRC) has a busy October planned, with programs, special events and activities for local children and families.
One of the month’s highlights will be the Centre’s second birthday celebration on Friday, October 9th, with families invited to stop by between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. for a day of activities.
Programming begins with Tummy Explorers for babies up to eight months on October 6th and 27th, while a walk-in Immunization Clinic for children five and under will be available October 7th.
A new program, Mat’s Moms, will debut October 13th, providing a supportive space for expectant mothers, moms on maternity leave and those preparing to or recently returning to work.
Programs for children ages three to five include Lil’ Scientists on October 14th; Socio-Emotional Learning on October 15th, 22nd and 29th; Practical Life Skills on October 21st; and a new Sensory Exploration program on October 28th.
Navera Musical Connections will also be offered October 14th and 21st, using music and movement to support children’s development.
On October 20th, families can take part in Messy Babies, a sensory-based program for children up to age three, as well as Lil’ Tastebuds, a registered cooking program for children ages two to five.
Halloween fun will arrive October 26th with Pumpkin Painting, where families can decorate a pumpkin together and take it home for Halloween night.
Other activities throughout the month include Sip & Chat sessions, a Dayhome Drop-In on October 16th, and regular Bonding thru Play and Parent & Baby programming.
The Centre will be closed October 12th for Thanksgiving, with additional closures scheduled near the end of the month for a centre change-around.
Some programs require advance registration, while others are available on a drop-in basis. Families can find additional information through the Martensville-Warman Early Years Family Resource Centre’s social media pages or at https://www.mwfamilycentre.ca/.
