The Martensville Royals football team has kicked off their season with two exciting exhibition games, showcasing determination and skill as they prepare for the upcoming regular season.
So far, the Royals have played two games, ending with a balanced record of one win and one loss. In their first game, they faced a tough loss against Aden Bowman, falling 16-12 in a closely contested battle. However, the team bounced back impressively in their second exhibition game, securing a 31-24 victory over Lloydminster.
Coaches were particularly pleased with the performance against Lloydminster, noting that both the offense and defense looked strong in the first half. Despite graduating several key players from last season on both sides of the ball, the coaching staff is optimistic about the progress of their younger athletes, who appear poised and ready to step up.
Looking ahead, the Royals are gearing up to welcome the St. Mary’s Marauders from Prince Albert for their first regular-season game this Friday, September 12th, at 4:00 PM. The game will take place at Wilson Field, and the team is eager to start the season on a high note with a home win.
Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Royals as they strive for success this season.
