Martensville’s popular 3-on-3 hockey tournament is set to return this summer, with organizers promising another exciting year on the ice, along with a major new addition aimed at growing the game.
Hosted by the Martensville Community Recreation Project (MCRP), the annual tournament has become the organization’s largest fundraiser, drawing approximately 400 players each year. The event not only brings together athletes from across the region but also helps support ongoing recreation initiatives in the community.
This year’s tournament will run from August 23rd to September 15th at the Martensville Recreation Centre, featuring a fast-paced, seven-game schedule for participating teams. Divisions will once again be offered for U9, U11, U13, U15, and 15+ age groups.
New for 2026, organizers are expanding the tournament to include all-female divisions across every age category. The addition is part of a broader effort to support the continued growth of female hockey and create more opportunities for girls to compete, connect, and develop their skills in a fun and inclusive environment.
The all-female divisions are expected to provide a space where players can build confidence, form friendships, and fully engage in the sport, whether they are new to hockey or already competing at a higher level.
Registration for the tournament opens on June 1st, with organizers encouraging teams to sign up early as spots are expected to fill quickly. Early bird pricing will be available for those who register before June 30th, offering a $50 discount off the $245 per player registration fee.
With its mix of competition, community spirit, and now expanded opportunities for female athletes, the 3-on-3 tournament continues to be a highlight of the local hockey calendar each summer.
