The MHS boys’ soccer team coached by Kate McKinnon, have had a busy season already. They played an early bird tournament in North Battleford in early September in which they defeated Poundmaker, lost to John Paull II and tied against Swift Current. In their season play they have lost to VCA, defeated Rosthern Junior College and have tied Stobbart at home. They travelled to Prince Albert for a tournament September 29 and 30.
The team hosted Poundmaker today and pulled out the win under cold, windy conditions. Their next home game is October 11 against Waldheim. The team is hosting a tournament on October 14 as they get ready for Regionals on October 21 and 22 which they will also be hosting. John Paull II, Prince Albert and Poundmaker will be their opponents at their home tournament. McKinnon also has the help of Royals alumni Josh Frattinger and Jonah Chivilo. It’s good to see students return to give back to the team.
