Brad Boehm from Boehm’s Physiotherapy Competes at National Level at 55+ Hockey Championship

The Canadian National 55+ (Men’s) Hockey Championship was held April 9–12, 2026 in Calgary.
This national tournament brings together hockey teams from all over Canada for players aged 55 and up. The focus is not on professional-level competition but rather on top-tier recreational play, building friendships, reconnecting with fellow players, and staying active while enjoying hockey in later years. Participants are usually experienced athletes, whether from junior, senior, or long-term recreational backgrounds.
Saskatchewan has a strong culture of senior hockey and had a solid presence at this event. They went undefeated in the round robin defeating Edmonton, Leduc and Yellowknife. They lost to Calgary in the final and brought home a silver medal.
Brad Boehm was a valuable member who contributed significantly to the competitiveness of the Saskatchewan team. He played for the Prince Albert Raiders during the late 1980s, followed by the University of Saskatchewan Huskies in the early 1990s. He plays on several rec hockey teams throughout the winter.
“The weekend was a great test of will, strong competition and close games. What the event created was some bonds with our team that were newly put together to compete but ended up being a chance to win it all in a group of new friends. That’s the benefit of team sports – and I was so grateful for the opportunity to compete and be a part of that,” said Boehm.
Boehm has owned Boehm’s Physiotherapy in Martensville since 2003. The clinic provides personalized care with an emphasis on sports and functional recovery, offering services such as sports injury rehab, manual and exercise therapy, vestibular treatment for dizziness and vertigo, dry needling, cold laser therapy, and accident and workplace injury rehabilitation. They are open Monday – Friday and are located at #6 – 239 Centennial Drive North.
