Bantam Maddogs Come Out Strong For Home Opener

by Jocelyn Ottenbreit

Maddogs Football held their Homecoming on Sunday, September 19 with many in attendance.

The day started out early for the Maddog Executive’s and parent volunteers who were busy helping with setup for raffle tables, silent auctions, and face-painting tables.

The Pee Wee team, coached by Grant Currie, played the first game against the Saskatoon Warriors at 1 pm which ended in a 20-20 tie.

At 2:30 the Flag Football kids went on to the field for some scrimmage and drills that was coordinated by Devin Hind. They also had a special guest join them, former Maddogs player, Hudson Funk, who has just joined the CJFL Kamloop’s Bronco’s team as a left tackle.

The Bantam team, led by head coach Brian Cook, came on to the field at 3:30 to play against the Saskatoon Warriors, dominating the game 60 – 0.

The next home game is Sunday, October 3 when the Pee Wees vs Clavet at 1pm and Bantams vs Clavet at 3:30 pm. Make sure to come out and cheer on your Maddog teams!
