The Martensville Chiefs have made key changes behind the bench as they prepare for the 2026–27 season, promoting Jordan Berschiminsky to Head Coach.
The Chiefs announced that Berschiminsky will take over as Head Coach heading into the team’s second year in Martensville. A young and driven leader, he has made a strong impact within the organization in a short period of time.
Berschiminsky, who has been an integral part of the team’s staff, steps into the position at an important time as the Chiefs prepare for roster turnover and place a strong focus on developing young talent. The organization expressed confidence in his ability to lead, develop, and build the next wave of Chiefs hockey.
A young and driven coach, Berschiminsky has quickly established himself as a strong leader behind the bench. His growth over a short period of time, combined with his understanding of the game and ability to connect with players, made him the clear choice to take the next step within the Chiefs organization.
“We are super excited to have Jordan step up as our Head Coach,” said General Manager Brennan Hall. “The progress he has made as a coach in such a short amount of time has been outstanding to watch. We know we’re in very good hands with him at the wheel, and we truly see this as a long-term hire with a ton of upside for our organization.”
Berschiminsky will also retain his role as Assistant General Manager, continuing to play a key part in roster construction and overall hockey operations as the Chiefs look to build a competitive, high-character group heading into the new season.
Alongside the coaching promotion, the Chiefs also announced the return of Luke Dyer, who previously played with the Martensville Chiefs when they were the Delisle Chiefs, and will now join the team as Assistant Coach.
With a renewed focus on developing young talent and continuing to establish the Chiefs identity in Martensville, the organization is looking ahead with excitement under its updated coaching staff.
The team also hosted its Spring Camp on Sunday, April 5th at the Martensville Recreation Centre, where prospective players had the opportunity to get in front of coaches and compete for a chance to be considered for the 2026–27 roster. The one-day camp ran from 8:30am to 4:15pm and served as an important step in identifying talent for the upcoming season.
