Skate Martensville wrapped up a successful season filled with performances, appreciation, and opportunities for skaters of all ages to stay involved on the ice.
The club recently hosted its annual ice show at the Martensville Recreation Centre, featuring a Hollywood Walk of Fame theme that brought iconic movies, music, and celebrities to life. Skaters of all ages and experience levels took part, from those stepping onto the ice for their very first season to seasoned adult performers. The event also included a full afternoon of entertainment, with a photo booth, raffle prizes, a 50/50 draw, and more, creating a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.
Organizers extended a heartfelt thank you to the coaches, board members, and volunteers who helped bring the show together, noting that their time and dedication played a key role in the event’s success.
As the season comes to a close, Skate Martensville also took time to recognize its coaching team, highlighting the impact they have had on skaters throughout the year. From teaching foundational skills to choreographing programs and supporting athletes through their development, coaches were credited with helping build confidence, resilience, and a lasting love of the sport. Special thanks were shared with coaches Megan, Teah, Danny, Nicole, Dani, and Sam for their contributions throughout the season.
While the competitive season may be winding down, there are still opportunities for skaters to get involved. Skate Martensville is hosting a “Bring a Friend” synchronized skating night on April 30th from 6:30pm to 7:30pm at the Martensville Recreation Centre. Open to both youth and adult skaters, the session offers a chance to try synchronized skating in a fun and welcoming environment, with no prior experience required.
Participants are encouraged to register in advance through the Skate Martensville website under the “Spring Skating Synchro Drop-In” section.
