Martensville Hosts High Schools Girls Provincial Curling

Martensville served as the host for the High School Royals Girls Provincial Curling Tournament on March 6 and 7. Eight teams participated in the competition for the championship title: Estevan, Kincaid, Saskatoon Holy Cross, Regina Winston Knoll, Dinsmore, Lumsden, La Ronge Churchill High School, and Martensville. The weekend started off with the Opening Ceremonies showcasing the 8 teams, and Mayor Kent Muench welcoming the participating teams.
The Martensville senior girls’ team consisted of Jada Tarasoff, Emma Hurley, Drew Tarasoff, Aubrey Nystuen, and Lindsay Miller, under the guidance of coaches Derek Tarasoff and Larryssa Clark.
The tournament featured highly competitive matches throughout the weekend. Ultimately, Holy Cross secured the gold medal by defeating La Ronge Churchill High School in the final, while Lumsden prevailed over Martensville to earn the bronze.
