Martensville-Warman Early Years Family Resource Centre Announces September Programs

The Martensville-Warman Early Years Family Resource Centre (MWEYFRC) has a full schedule of programs and activities planned for September, offering families opportunities for learning, play, support and community connection.
The month will include several special programs alongside the centre’s regular Bonding thru Play and Parent & Baby sessions.
Sip & Chat will be offered on September 3, 17 and 24. Designed with moms in mind, the program provides parents and caregivers an opportunity to connect while childminding is provided. Professionals are also invited to discuss topics related to mental and physical health, parenting and other areas of interest.
Young children will have an opportunity to get an up-close look at emergency vehicles during two special visits. A Fire Truck Tour will take place September 4, followed by an Emergency Vehicle Tour on September 18. Both programs are designed to introduce children to emergency vehicles and basic safety concepts in a fun and age-appropriate environment.
Tummy Explorers, designed for babies from newborn to approximately eight months old, will be offered September 8 and 29. Activities will focus on developmental milestones including rolling, crawling and reaching, with professionals available to help answer parents’ questions about their child’s development.
A Clothing Grab will also be held September 8 for families with children ages five and under. Clothing will be organized by size and gender, and families can take the items they need from the centre’s inventory at no cost.
Kindergarten Prep returns September 9 and 11, offering two sessions aimed at helping children prepare for the upcoming school year. The first will focus on fine and gross motor skills, while the second will concentrate on language, communication and independence.
Families can get creative during Lil’ Picassos on September 10, when a variety of craft supplies will be available for children to create artwork to take home or display at the centre.
Nobody’s Perfect Parenting will be held September 14, 21 and 28. The parent-led initiative provides a supportive environment where parents can discuss the joys, challenges and realities of raising children.
A new program, Mat’s Moms, will debut September 15. Designed for prenatal and postpartum mothers, including those preparing for maternity leave, currently on leave or returning to work, the program will provide a supportive environment for moms to discuss challenges, share advice and build connections with one another.
Lil’ Scientists will take place September 16, giving parents and children ages three to five an opportunity to participate in STEM-based science experiments intended to encourage family engagement, bonding and early learning.
An immunization clinic for children ages five and under will be held September 17. The clinic is walk-in, and parents are asked to bring their child’s health card.
Little Yogis will be offered September 18 and 25 for children between 18 and 36 months old. The drop-in yoga sessions will be hosted by Lil Yogis Yoga.
Messy Babies takes place September 22 and encourages children ages three and under to explore through open-ended sensory activities. Activities such as painting with yogurt and playing with wet sand allow babies to explore different textures while developing fine motor skills, sensory tolerance and brain connections.
On September 23, Precious will host a Bilingual Children Presentation for parents and caregivers. The session will provide guidance, practical strategies and opportunities for discussion about raising bilingual or multilingual children during the early years.
Regular Bonding thru Play sessions for children ages five and under and Parent & Baby sessions for children up to age three will also be offered throughout the month.
The centre will be closed for program changeover on September 1, 29 and 30, as well as September 7 for Labour Day.
