Maddogs Prepare For Annual Homecoming Celebration

by Jocelyn Ottenbreit

Maddogs Football promotes youth football in both flag and tackle from kindergarten to Grade 9.

Both Peewee and Bantam teams were host to the Titans and the Steelers to start the season on Sunday, September 11th at the Maddogs Football field in Martensville, where they showed off their new jerseys provided by Saskatoon Minor Football.

This year there are two age groups competing in the Kinsmen Football League (KFL); Peewee age group – Grade 6 & 7 which is played with Canadian 9-man football rules and Bantam age group – Grade 8 & 9, which follow the Canadian 12-man football rules.

The Bantam team will be led by head coach Grant Currie and the Peewee Teams are divided into Black and Orange. Head coach for the Black team is Som Houmphanh and for the Orange team, Chad Cisecki.

Maddogs Football will be hosting their Homecoming on Saturday, September 17 with all teams participating. There will be a dunk tank, raffle table, silent auction, inflatable basketball throw and more.
