The Martensville Maddogs held their homecoming on Saturday, September 17th with many in attendance.
There was lots of excitement as the Peewee and Bantam teams took to the field with activities to keep everyone entertained throughout the day.
A dunk tank was on display as several brave participants sat in the hot seat and eager kids took turns throwing the football in hopes of dunking their favourite coach or anyone willing to volunteer.
In-between and during the games there was a chance to win a variety of prizes such as a riders game package, Eagles concert tickets and many more. Facepainting and games were also a highlight.
Every year former Maddogs partake in a scrimmage game with the flag football teams in between games.
One highlight this year was having several Saskatoon Valkyries come out to run some football drills with the flag football kids. The Saskatoon Valkyries Football Club are seven-time WWCFL Champions with their most recent Championship win in 2022.
“Every year we try and make it a family event for the entire day. Former players and current players all come out to help make this homecoming a success. Without volunteers from Martensville and area, this event could not be possible,” said Maddogs President Som Houmphanh.
Partnering with the KFL program helps make this organization continue to grow every year. Kids start to develop their skills starting from flag football up to grade 9 and hopefully continue on in their high school year.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Maddogs football team and all the volunteers that made it possible.
