The Martensville & District Kinette Club is constantly looking for new, unique ways to raise money. Since COVID became a regular part of our day-to-day lives, the local Kinettes, along with other non-profit organizations have faced additional struggles when it comes to their fundraising methods.
“COVID has made it very difficult for us. Normally, we would throw a big in-person event like our Dueling Pianos where we could raise over $10,000 in one night, but now we have to be creative and think of ways to do socially distanced events,” Jodi Martens of the Kinettes said.
The newest creative event will be a Virtual Toy Bingo to raise money for TeleMiracle that will be taking place this November. The Kinette Club will be selling Bingo Cards so families can play along at home. Once available, cards will be sold at Pharmasave in Martensville and at the Legends Centre in Warman through cash purchase only. More information regarding this event will be announced as it draws closer.
In the meantime, the Kinette Club is looking for support from local businesses who would like to help by either donating a new toy or contributing a cash donation.
The local Kinettes currently have 17 members; however, they are always ready and willing to accept new ones. If interested in joining, email martensvillekinettes@gmail.com, or contact them through the ‘Martensville and District Kinette Club’ Facebook page.
