The Martensville Municipal Election will be taking place on Wednesday, November 13th at the North Ridge Community Centre from 8:00am-8:00pm. There will also be three advanced polls held at City Hall on November 2 from 1:00pm-5:00pm, Wednesday, November 6 from 3:00pm-8:00pm and Saturday, November 9 from 1:00pm-5:00pm.
The position for Mayor of Martensville will have two choices this year, with Incumbent Kent Muench and Travis Sorenson on the ballot.
For Martensville City Council, four incumbent councillors will not be seeking re-election, including Jamie Martens; who is currently the Saskatchewan Party candidate for the Martensville-Blairmore constituency; Tyson Chillog, Debbie McGuire and Michael Cox.
There is a total of 14 candidates seeking a seat on Martensville City Council, including incumbents Darren MacDonald and Spencer Nikkel. Other candidates running include; Derek Reddekopp, Mark Knox, Krista McCann, Stephen Ioannou, Logan McCorriston, Shawn Sampson, Katharine Carter, Douglas O’Hara, Brad Blixt, Bren Hannay, Tracy Cocks, and Matthew Stavenow.
The Prairie Sky Chamber of Commerce will be hosting an All-Candidates Forum on Wednesday, October 23rd at 6pm at the North Ridge Community Centre. The forums will be open to the public to attend and community members are able to submit questions ahead of time by emailing admin@prairieskychamber.ca, or texting (306) 292-7066.
