City of Martensville Council Meetings and Committee of the Whole Meetings are open to the public and we invite you to attend in person or virtually to see what is happening in our community.
October 6 – Regular Council Meeting

Location: Martensville City Hall Council Chambers, 37 Centennial Drive
Time: All meetings begin at 5 pm

2026 Lane and General Clean-Up Program
The City will once again be having its annual Lane and General Clean-up Program this September. This initiative allows residents to dispose of items that are not accepted during regular garbage pick-ups. Our Public Works department, in collaboration with the Urban Camp, will collect eligible items on specific dates, which are listed below:
– Residents that live South of Main Street will have their items picked up the week of September 14 – 18. All items will need to be out by September 14 – 8:00 AM.
– Residents that live North of Main Street will have their items picked up the week of September 21 – 25. All items will need to be out by September 21 – 8:00 AM.
Please Remember:
– The City will be making one pass only.
– All residents with back lanes shall not place any items out in the lane until one week prior to pick-up each year.
– All residents without back lanes shall not place any items curbside until one day before pickup.

Committee of the Whole Council Meeting Recap – September 8
Items discussed during the meeting:
Mid-Term Governance Check-in
Administration advised that, with Council at the mid-point of its term, it was timely to review the current meeting schedule, Deputy Mayor rotation, Council Remuneration Policy, and meeting procedures to ensure they continue to work well for Council, Administration, and the public. No concerns were raised regarding the meeting schedule or Deputy Mayor rotation. Discussion took place regarding allowing additional members of Council to attend the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) conference in years when SUMA is held in Saskatoon. Clarification was requested on cancelling regular scheduled meetings within the Council Procedure Bylaw. It was also suggested that the Committees of Council appointments be brought back to Council to determine whether any changes to appointments are needed.
Transportation Master Plan
Council received the Community Engagement Plan for the development of a comprehensive Transportation Master Plan for the City of Martensville. The plan outlines the proposed communication tools, engagement activities, roles and responsibilities, and timeline for the project.
Two rounds of public engagement are planned, beginning in Fall 2026. The first round will focus on gathering community experiences, concerns, and priorities related to transportation in Martensville. A second round, proposed for Spring 2027, will provide an opportunity for the public to review and provide feedback on draft recommendations.
Communications for the project will be coordinated collaboratively between the project consultants and the City of Martensville.
Public Engagement Framework
The Public Engagement Framework began development earlier this year and has been refined through further research, experience, and input from leadership and management. The framework was developed to support meaningful engagement and to integrate Communications into project planning at an early stage. This will help identify engagement requirements, communication risks, and opportunities before key decisions are made. The framework provides the City with a common foundation for engaging the community in a way that is purposeful, proportionate, accessible, and connected to municipal decision-making. Best practices and resources were used in developing the framework, including those from the International Association for Public Participation and the Community Association of Municipal Communicators, as well as the City’s own activities and experiences.
