The Martensville Peewee AA Marauders brought home the silver medal from the prestigious 32 team 28th annual Regina Pats PW Classic tournament this past weekend. They finished pool play with a 3-0 record and advanced to the A side playoffs.
In their first playoff game they took on Winnipeg East Railcats White and came away with a 6-0 victory. They faced the Langley Eagles in the semi-final. It was a tight battle until the third period where they scored six unanswered goals and they breezed to a 10-3 win. For the second tournament in a row they faced the West Central Wheat Kings in the final. It was a tight game, but West Central came out on top 3-2.
The team had a great weekend and were able to set some new tournament records such as a new record for most goals scored with 50 in total. Kazden Mathies shattered the all-time scoring record with 30 points in six games. Corban Almen was the tournament MVP. Martensville also had four players make the all-star team: Kazden Mathies, Corban Almen, Corben Schnurr and Kaden Shumay.
