New Ownership at Boston Pizza Brings With It Many Changes

by Shanine Sealey

Alisa Borowsky and Jamie Pearson became the new owners of the Martensville Boston Pizza location on August 9th, 2021. The sale of the business was posted publicly and initially, the two were approached by a third person to partner together; however, when that person decided not to move forward, the two of them put in their offer and were pleased when it had been accepted.

Since taking ownership, there have been numerous changes made, with more on the horizon. “We had a vision coming into this and knew that we would be changing things up. We hired a lot of new staff, and although it doesn’t happen overnight, we are working on that team dynamic. That is something that Boston Pizza is all about. It’s a family restaurant, the corner pub and we want it to be a place where people feel comfortable and excited about coming to,” Borowsky said.

Currently, there are approximately 40 people on staff, and Borowsky said they are always hiring. Those wanting to apply can come drop a resume off to the front desk during hours of operation.

Another big change was more reliable delivery options made open to Martensville and Warman residents, which are now available during all hours that the Martensville Boston Pizza is open. There are also a lot of events taking place in the lounge area including UFC fights, hockey nights, football, and more with numerous giveaways. A UFC Fight Night will be taking place on November 8th and if it’s anything like the previous one, the place will be packed.

Many food and drink specials take place throughout the week, with some having been in place prior to Pearson and Borowsky taking ownership, and some as new additions. A few of the most popular specials are 50% off wings on Wednesday, get your second large or medium pizza for 50% off, $8 Bandera Bread on Thursdays, $20 ribs on Saturday, large pizza for the price of a medium on Friday, $14 nachos on Sunday and many more. One of the newest Boston Pizza promotions is Appy Hour, which takes place from 3pm-6pm and 9pm-close Monday to Friday. “We have something new every day and great deals on beverages and food throughout the week. There is something for everyone,” Borowsky stated.

As part of their plan to provide options suitable for everyone, Boston Pizza also offers catering, and has a separate menu available with larger portions for bigger groups. Additionally, there is a team menu available for dine-in and take-out for larger groups and beer and food specials for teams if they come into the lounge.
With sports being a big part of the Boston Pizza name, both Borowsky and Pearson feel it is important to not only provide sports options within the walls of their business, but also within the community, so helping sponsor numerous sports organizations was a high priority.

“We are from the communities of Martensville and Warman, and we have kids here that are involved in a lot of different activities, so for us, we knew that was something we wanted to help out with as much as we could. We have sponsored different events, racecar drivers, Player of the Game for Novice hockey in Martensville and Warman and lots of different team sponsorship. It is something that we are really proud of, and we are really happy to be able to do it.”
