Geransky Brothers Construction has been a part of Martensville since 1975 when Ed & Irvin Geransky started the business. In 1977, Dennis Geransky joined his brothers and is currently the proud owner & CEO. Keeping in line with the name, Geransky Brothers, Dennis’ sons Ryan and Corey came into the business to work alongside their father as owners. Ryan, who is the Vice President and Corey, who is the Operations Manager, are both proud to be a part of this local business, as they grew up in Martensville and have seen it become the thriving city that it is today. This family business was one of the first foundation companies within the Saskatoon area and has seen exceptional growth since its inception.

Their former location at 531 Centennial Drive North was the perfect fit for numerous years; however, as Martensville continued to grow, so did the needs of the local residents and businesses. This growth made their decision to build a larger location further down the street at 931 Centennial Drive North in 2010 an easy one to make. This location where they are located today was initially purchased by the company and used to store material and equipment; however, proved to be the perfect spot to construct their larger shop where they have journeyman mechanics, apprentices, a shop assistant and a parts department. Proudly SGI certified, each year the company does safety inspections on all trucks and trailers, ensuring everything is running at optimal performance.

Being a local company, Geransky Brothers Construction prides themselves on providing jobs for residents of Martensville and surrounding areas and currently employs approximately 45 employees, with many of them residing in the local municipalities. A large portion of their employees have been employed with the company for ten or more years.

Although the company offers the same services as they did in 1975, since that time, they have become far more diversified in the options they provide to their customers. “We are still doing residential foundations, but we do a far bigger variety today compared to when the company first started,” explained Ryan.

Geransky Brothers Construction offers all of your needs when it comes to residential foundations from survey to backfill including; excavating footings, walls, weeping tile and damp proofing, water and sewer connection, backfill, garage foundations, deck pilings and slab work. Other services offered by Geransky include material supply and delivery. With a wide range of equipment, trucks and material, they can provide everything you need for aggregate, sand, gravel or topsoil. With their equipment, they are able to do leveling, stripping, backfilling, basement digging, water trenches, commercial digs of all sizes, flood control and much more.

One of the services they are especially happy to provide is the ability to offer waterproof basements to their customers. Since 2012, the company has successfully waterproofed over 1800 basements and continues to give homeowners the peace of mind of knowing their home will remain dry. Using an advanced instant set water based spray on membrane, which they spray on at 60mls thick, it allows for expansion and contracting, bridging wall cracks, and ensuring a water proof seal. This service is also available for retrofit repair in homes in need of foundation repairs with waterproofing.

With a wide array of services available, Geransky Brothers Construction is constantly working to bring new options to their customers. This year, they plan to focus on their addition of concrete driveways. “We used to do them in the past, then we went away from it for about ten years and in the last two years, we did a soft start with them and are really going to put our attention on it this year. We are excited to be able to provide this service and think it will be a really nice option for our customers,” Ryan added.https://martensvillemessenger.ca/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Geransky-3.gif

Community is an important thing to the Geransky family, as Martensville has been both their home and the location for their business, so they believe in giving back where they can. Most recently, the company was involved in the construction of the Kyle Syrenne Skatepark. Geransky Bros. was hired to work alongside New Line Skateparks on the concrete for the park. “Kyle’s Brother Riel Syrenne reached out to us and gave us the opportunity to look at the project. We felt it was a great opportunity and we were thankful to be a part of it. The skatepark involved some really unique concrete work, different from what we typically do. It is always nice to be able to give back to the community, and before we would see kids looking for places to skateboard or BMX and now there is a really nice facility for them that was much needed,” Ryan Geransky said.

The Geransky family and the staff looks forward to calling Martensville home for many more years to come and can’t wait to see what awaits Martensville in the future. Ryan commented, “there have been a lot of changes in Martensville over the years and it is crazy to see how different it is from when Corey and I were kids. It is so exciting to see the new businesses and new neighborhoods being added and with the construction of the overpass, who knows what is to come!”
