If you are looking for an evening out to hear an amazing acoustic performance this weekend, then The Cork and Kettle in Warman is the place to be on Saturday, June 19.
Martensville and District Kinsmen Club member Rob Spence approached local artist Codie Prevost, to plan a way to get the community together, raise funds for community initiatives, and bring back live events. According to Prevost, he thought the idea was “awesome and exciting.”
“Kinsmen in my eyes is one of the most important fundraising organizations in our province. They help so many people in so many communities all across Saskatchewan. I’ve had the privilege of performing on Telemiracle and at numerous Kinsmen events province wide and I’ve always been proud to be a part of them,” said Prevost.
Prevost is a four-time Canadian Country Music Association nominee and six-time Saskatchewan Country Music Association ‘Fans Choice Entertainer of the year’ award winner. He is no stranger to the music world sharing the stage with some of country’s top music performers such as Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Garth Brooks and Neal McCoy to name a few.
Another up and coming country artist, special guest Carlyne Ray, will be performing for the two show event. The all ages show is from 5-7pm and another from 8-10pm which is for 19+.
“Singer/Songwriter Carlyne Ray will be doing a set to kick things off and then I will hit the stage sharing stories and songs for the remainder of the show. I’ll be performing songs from my five albums plus some new ones and I’ll be looking to get the crowd involved in the show,” stated Prevost.
Spence reached out to the country artist as he was familiar with her music and thought that the two of them would be an incredible fit. When asking Prevost about the up and coming performer, he stated that one of his favourite things about being involved in music is seeing new artists, and after watching some of her videos he said it will be a great show!
The later show is sold out but there are some tickets left for the early show. Tickets are available through Eventbrite.ca and if you use the coupon code “Family25”, you will get 25% off the purchase of your tickets.
“It’s been a long year and a half for everyone in the community so it brings great joy to be able to get out and do this. We look forward to seeing you and raising funds for the Kinsmen at this well needed evening out,” said Prevost.
