On November 7 at 4:20 am, the Warman RCMP received a complaint from a person that claimed they had been threatened at gunpoint while at a gas station in Saskatoon. It is alleged that an adult male demanded the victim drive him outside the city while threatening him with a sawed off shotgun. At first the suspect made the vehicle owner drive, but then decided he would drive.

While the suspect was driving, he dropped the weapon onto the vehicle floor. As he tried to regain control of the shotgun it discharged, striking him in the leg and causing significant injury. The suspect stopped the vehicle and the owner was able to pull him out of the vehicle, regain control and drive away from the scene. The victim called 911 as he was driving away. At the same time the suspect called 911 for assistance with his injury.

EMS and police arrived on scene and the suspect was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
