Saskatoon Police are currently responding to a collision between a school bus and an SUV.
SPS received the call at approximately 8:30 a.m., November 15, 2018. Initial reports state that the bus struck a car and pushed it through an intersection and into a tree at Cumberland Avenue South and Taylor Street East. The driver of the SUV is believed to have ran a red light. There were 16 students on the bus during the collision; some of whom sustained minor injuries. Paramedics are assessing the students on scene. The driver of the car is believed to have sustained serious injuries.
Taylor Street East is closed to traffic from Cumberland Avenue South to Cairns Avenue. Cumberland Avenue is also closed from 1st Street East to Isabella Street East.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area at this time. Further updates will be released when they become available.
