This past weekend was an evening of celebration for one local business as they celebrated their official grand opening. The Barber Corner, based out of Passions Beauty Studio in Warman, opened their doors on August 28th; however, they hosted a grand opening soiree Friday, November 17th. Approximately 30 people came out for a chance to meet the barbers; Brooke Rau, Dawn Deschamps-Earle, Josie Nieth and Chelsey and Cory Harder. The evening also consisted of an

opportunity to win some amazing door prizes, enjoy some delicious pizza provided by Vern’s Pizza in Martensville and take part in great conversation.

We wanted a space where men can feel comfortable and know that they were going to be taken care of.” Cory Harder – The Barber Corner

The Barber Corner provides a chance for the men of Warman, Martensville and surrounding areas to rejoice as it is a place where men can enjoy services specific to them. Providing haircuts, beard trims, hot towel shaves and men’s grooming products for hair, beard and shaving, men of all ages can receive the care they need. “We wanted a space where men can feel comfortable and know that they were going to be taken care of. We are happy to bring specific services and products tailored to men into the community,” Barber Cory Harder explained.

Harder had worked at previous jobs but knew that they weren’t something that he wanted to pursue as a career. Having been a part of Passions Beauty Studio since its inception in one form or another such as; bookkeeping, payroll, maintenance, etc., Harder began to become interested in the industry. After some encouragement from his wife Chelsey, the owner/operator of Passions Beauty Studio, Harder took the leap and enrolled at MC College in Saskatoon. “Throughout the years, I was extremely fortunate that Chelsey would bring me along to various training and education trips. She would encourage me to come to some of the actual training opportunities and it always interested me,” said Harder.

As husband and wife, a common question the couple gets asked is what it is like to work so closely with one another. “Chelsey has been my inspiration, mentor and the person that I look up to the most. I just try to learn as much as I can from her when we have the opportunity to work together. She has so much talent, as well as the rest of the team at Passions Beauty Studio and The Barber Corner, so I continue to learn more each and every day,” Harder added.

It has been a very busy year with juggling going back to school, doing renovations and opening The Barber Corner, as well as family time, but it has been a blast. Everyone has been very supportive and excited for us, so that makes it even better,” Harder added.
