A&W Teen Burger Days Raise Funds for KidSport Martensville

by Shanine Sealey

A&W Martensville is once again showing their support for the community through their Teen Burger Days campaign, which is held to help raise funds and awareness for KidSport Martensville, a local organization that helps ensure all children are given the opportunity to participate in organized sports.

On Saturday, November 22nd and Sunday, November 23rd, $2.00 from every Teen Burger sold will go towards supporting Martensville/Warman KidSport.

This money will help local children aged 5 to 18 receive funding to access sports programs and registration fees that they might not otherwise be able to afford.

The initiative not only boosted awareness of KidSport’s mission but also highlighted the important role local businesses play in strengthening community programs.

Through the program, families can apply for individual grants of up to $750 per calendar year to help cover the costs of organized sports. Applications can be submitted online through KidSport Saskatchewan, and paper forms are available at the Martensville Athletic Pavilion (MAP) for those who prefer to apply in person.

Community members can also play a direct role in supporting KidSport Martensville. Residents are encouraged to get involved by purchasing raffle tickets, attending local fundraising events, buying KidSport cutouts, or making a donation online. Donations over $25 are eligible for a tax receipt, making it easier for individuals and businesses to contribute to local youth.

The need for support continues to grow each year. So far this year, KidSport Martensville has received over 40 applications, providing more than $20,000 in assistance to help local children stay active and connected through sport.
