A Collision Between A Truck And Scooter In Saskatoon Results In Death Of Nine-Year-Old Girl

Saskatoon Police Service (SPS) confirmed that a nine-year-old girl died after a collision involving a truck and the scooter she was riding Thursday, September 9.

Police and EMS responded to the collision which occurred in the 600 block of 33rd Street West in the Mayfair neighbourhood around 9am. The girl was transported to hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

The SPS Traffic Section’s Collision Analyst Unit continues to investigate the fatal collision involving a Ford pickup truck driven by a 27 year old woman and the nine year old girl on a scooter. They are trying to determine what factors existed to cause the collision by analyzing data collected from the scene.

The Traffic Section investigates collisions with a variety of highly specialized investigative techniques including witness interviews and forensic laboratory testing, as well as reconstruction, which can take time before a conclusion can be reached.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help the single mother of two, Rochelle Dubois, to raise money to help cover funeral expenses following the accident of her young daughter, Baeleigh.
