The Martensville Primary Health Centre will be hosting a Pap-A-Palooza event on Monday, November 9th, aimed at raising awareness about cervical cancer screening and encouraging eligible individuals to book a Pap test.
The initiative is part of an effort to promote preventative healthcare and emphasize the importance of regular cervical cancer screening. According to Saskatchewan’s Screening Program for Cervical Cancer, individuals with a cervix between the ages of 25 and 69 are encouraged to undergo a Pap test every three years.
The event will take place at the Martensville Primary Health Centre, located at 130-70 Centennial Drive North, and is open to anyone who meets the screening age requirements, regardless of whether they are currently a patient at the clinic.
All healthcare providers performing Pap tests during the event will be female.
Organizers emphasize that participants do not need to be registered patients to take advantage of the screening opportunity; however, the healthcare providers participating in the event are not accepting new patients and will only provide follow-up care for abnormal test results.
Those interested in participating are encouraged to contact the Martensville Primary Health Centre at 306-844-4420 and request an appointment for Pap Day.
Regular cervical cancer screening plays an important role in early detection, helping identify abnormal cell changes before they develop into cancer. Events such as Pap-A-Palooza aim to make screening more accessible while encouraging individuals to prioritize their health.
