Team Iron elles Personal Training (TIEPT) has been in business for the past six years, and throughout that time, owner/operator Leanne Kolbe has always been a big believer in giving back to the local community. Each year, TIEPT participates in at least one group fundraising event – sometimes multiple.
Currently, TIEPT is raising money for this year’s Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure event. Having participated in this event in 2019, Kolbe was invested in taking part once again, despite the fact that the event will look a little different this year due to COVID.
TIEPT will be taking part in either a 3km walk or a 5km run on Friday, October 1st, and participants will consist of both TIEPT clients and friends of TIEPT. Donations to the Team Iron Elles group can be made through the Run for the Cure website, which can be accessed by visiting the ‘Team Iron Elles Personal Training’ Facebook page.
“Events like this are a fantastic way for us to give back because it is important for me to give back to the local community, and I love to do team-building events as part of my personal training business, so this is a great outlet to provide both,” Kolbe stated.
Initially, a goal of $4000 was set; however, the team has already surpassed that amount and is now working towards a new goal of $6000.
In addition to sponsoring the team through the Run for the Cure website, donations were also being made through proceeds of Team Iron elles hoodies, which were created in partnership with Alpyne Apparel in Martensville. Other donations were received through both Zyia Activewear and Norwex which both donated 20% of proceeds from sales to the fundraiser.
“We are excited to be doing this fundraiser and to be able to give back to such an incredible cause. Despite it being a smaller event than it was in the past, we have had a lot of donations coming in which is great to see. Thank you to everyone that has contributed to this cause. It is much appreciated,” said Kolbe.
