Richter Field, located across the highway from Martensville, played host to the Sport Parachute Association of Saskatchewan 2017 Provincials on both July 1st and July 2nd. The event, hosted by Sky Dive Saskatoon, saw 32 certified skydivers jumping from all across Saskatchewan. There were five events for competitors including Student Accuracy (three jumps with the goal of landing on a target; winner = quickest time to get to target), Regular Accuracy (three jumps with the goal of landing on a bullseye target; winner-shortest distance away from target), 8000 Foot Style (complete six maneuvers during free fall; winner – fastest time to complete), 11, 000 Foot Two-Way Vertical Formation Dive (two people jump together and complete a series of formations during freefall; winner = team with the most formations completed within the allotted time), and the 11,000 Foot Four-Way Relative Work (four people jump together and complete a series of formations during freefall; winner = team with the most formations completed within the allotted time). All competitors will be judged based on video footage. Given the extent of video footage to go through, winners have not yet been chosen.
