Santa Makes Early Stop in Martensville

by Shanine Sealey

The Martensville Library held their highly anticipated annual Christmas Pajama Party this past weekend. The always popular event brought a large number of children and adults to the North Ridge Community Centre for a fun-filled Christmas celebration.

Kicking off at 10am, the event included Christmas stories, carols, a Christmas craft, snacks and even a visit from Santa himself who gave each child a chance to tell him their Christmas wish and get a photo taken. “The event has been taking place for about 10 years. It is put on by the Martensville library Board members and library staff as a small fundraiser for the library,” Librarian Marla Skomar explained.

“The Martensville Library Christmas Pajama Party is a kickoff to the holiday season for families in our community. The event is geared for pre-school age children but all ages are invited to attend. We have a few older kids that do not want to miss the event that they remember as preschoolers and still attend. It’s a small intimate event that the families who attend seem to enjoy,” Skomar said.
