Martensville Fire Department wants the community to get to know your firefighters and have decided to do a periodic ‘get to know your firefighter’ post in the upcoming months according to their Facebook page.
The first firefighter to be showcased was Captain Norm Hydamacka who has been a very dedicated member of the department for the past 20 years. According to the fb page, Hydamacka is currently a certified driving, fire service, and first aid/CPR instructor. Besides being a volunteer firefighter, he works as a trainer fulltime with the City of Saskatoon and also volunteers with Firefighters Without Borders Canada.
The post also added that he enjoys spending time with family, playing a variety of sports, and going camping.
What Captain Hydamacka enjoys the most out of being a part MFD is being able to experience the adrenaline, working in a team environment, and helping others.
