Sutherland Automotive Speedway held their final race of the season on Sunday, September 18th. This automotive speedway, sponsored by Sutherland Automotive, is owned and operated by the Saskatoon Stock Car Racing Association (SSCRA) and has kept many entertained all summer long with a variety of races.
There were two final races on the weekend which were the Points Final battle on Saturday, September 17 with the Pro Late Models, Legends, Sportsman, Street Stocks and Bandoleros who put everything they had out on the track competing for the championship title, and the fan favorite Ultimate Enduro race on Sunday.
This competition featured enduro car races, trailer races and race your junk in a points final.
Martensville’s own Russell Smith competed with his enduro car, thanks to sponsorship from JAGplus – Jason’s Auto Glass, an auto glass service in Martensville.
“We have sponsored Russell Smith the last few years for the final race of the season at Sutherland Automotive Speedway, which included his style of race, the Enduro. Russell is a familiar face to many in our city and when he came to us looking for sponsorship we were proud to do so again this race. This year it worked for us to take our family to watch Russell and the other racers do their thing on the track. Russell sure does enjoy being behind the wheel, regardless if he wins or loses. It was great Sunday afternoon entertainment,” said owner Jason Rolfes.
