Each year, the Martensville Fire Department collects donations of non-perishable food items to be packaged and delivered to local families in need; however, due to COVID-19, this year, they will be doing things a little differently. Instead, the MFD is collecting cash, cheques and gift cards and donations will be used to purchase groceries and gifts for families.
The Martensville & District Lions Club contributes to this program each year, and this year was no different. Doug Ward, Secretary of the local Lions Club presented a cheque for $1000 to James Taylor, President of the Firefighters Association of Martensville and organizer of this year’s Christmas Cheer campaign.
