Currently, emergency crews are on the scene of a trail derailment at a rail crossing located on Highway 11 near Wanuskewin Road.

Crews were on scene as of 9:45am this morning, and numerous rail cars were witnessed to be on fire with smoke coming from them. It is estimated that 15-25 rail cars were derailed.

Early investigation indicates the train has spilled grain.

Emergency responders, the City of Saskatoon and CN Rail are on scene, however traffic in both directions is being rerouted. Southbound lanes traveling into Saskatoon will be diverted to Highway 12. Message boards will be in place to direct traffic to alternate northbound routes. Expect to see the message boards on Idylwyld Drive, Millar Avenue and Wanuskewin Road.

Updates will be provided when available.
