Canadian Blood Services will be holding a blood donation clinic in Martensville on March 25th at the North Ridge Community Centre with time slots available from 5:45pm to 7:55pm. The need for blood donation is always there, and when blood is required to save a patient’s life, multiple donors are needed, as seen below.
For those that have not donated in the past, the entire process takes just over one hour and in total, the blood donation consists of approximately 450ml, which is slightly less than half a litre or two cups. “This represents a small portion of the blood in a person’s body, as the average adult has about 5 litres,” the Canadian Blood Services website explains.
If you are unable to attend the clinic that will be taking place in Martensville, you can always go to the Canadian Blood Services office in Saskatoon, located at 1206 Emerson Avenue, where they hold donation clinics each week. “The need for blood is never ending. I have had leukemia and needed blood, and will eventually have heart surgery and will need it again and I am just one person. So if you can, please, please, please consider donating and saving lives,” former blood recipient Kristi Hofer commented.
