The City of Martensville has hired a new Director to be responsible for Public Works as well as Planning. Matt Gruza will be the Director of Infrastructure and Planning with the City and will officially start this position on September 4, 2018.

Matt has been working for the City of Martensville since June 2015 as our Assistant Engineer. He has been the acting Director of Infrastructure since the previous Director of Infrastructure and Planning resigned in February 2018. Matt has an engineering degree from the University of Saskatchewan majoring in civil engineering. He is actively pursuing his professional status with the engineering association (P.Eng). Matt is a progressive thinker and very fast at learning the processes used in City operations. He is technically sound and a very good communicator. Matt also brings some private sector experience to the position.

The Personnel Committee is very comfortable with the appointment and look forward to his knowledge as the City grows. “We are very confident that Matt will be the right person to lead our Infrastructure & Planning Department” said Scott Blevins, City Manager. Scott also added “I look forward to his knowledge and insight as part of the senior management team to assist with guiding the future of Martensville.” Matt has done an excellent job in the acting director role which has given us confidence to appoint him as a permanent director and a leader in our organization.

With this promotion the City will start the recruitment process to fill the Assistant Engineer position.
