Affinity Credit Union Hosts Competition to Fill Free Pantry

by Shanine Sealey

On Wednesday, November 9th, Affinity Credit Union hosted their Regional Staff Meeting in Martensville and decided that this year they were going to have a friendly competition between their branches. “We did something a little different and in the spirit of community giving, everyone brought donation items for the Martensville Free Pantry. We had a little fun with it to see which teams could bring in the most items,” Affinity Credit Union Financial Services Manager Tena Strunk, explained.

The team that brought in the most items was “Team Tony”, which consisted of the Martensville, Warman, Borden and Langham branches. Although it was close, “Team Maxine” which includes the Hague, Rosthern and Waldheim branches, came up short.

In the end, the real winner was the Martensville Free Pantry. “Today I dropped off 251 items, including two $10 Co-op gift cards, at the pantry. The pantry is no longer bare!” Strunk said.
